King Kahekili's Legacy

Ella, Dallas, Kelley, and Justin treated me to a fantastic seafood pasta dinner last night. Over dinner Dallas and Ella told me they were learning about the swan dive in swim class. I told Dallas there were people in a place called Acapulco that do beautiful swan dives into the ocean from very high cliffs. I went on to say that this took lots of courage, to which he responded, "What's courage?" So, this is for Dallas.

courage - A quality in which a person can face danger or pain without showing fear.

"...the sport of cliff diving is the acrobatic perfection of diving into water from a high cliff...the sensational sport originated from the Hawaiian Island of Lana´i in 1770. Kahekili, the king, demanded that his men leap off high cliffs and enter the water feet first without a splash, to prove their courage and loyalty. Today, after centuries, the activity has expanded into a sport that is marked by immense courage, focus, thrill and risk...education and training are a must for this extreme sport..." - Cliff Diving By Jimmy Sturo

grandpa's first try

Checking In On Grandpa

We stopped by the Robinson household today to make sure Grandma was taking good care of Grandpa after his surgery to replace the artery in his leg. Dallas and Ella gave the incision a good look to make sure he was healing properly. The verdict from Drs. Hardman was a thumbs up, but decided that more cartoons needed to be watched to make certain!

A Visit to Kelley's

Today Kelley visited and we learned how to create a google account.

Christmas Break

Dallas and Ella and I spent their Christmas break from school together. We filled our time with fun stuff like making pizza, having friends over for play dates, playing dress up and having smiling contests with our cousin Seanna. Here are a few snapshots of our hiatus together.

Making pizza is hard work, but boy is it worth it!And the winner of the first annual smiling contest is...Seanna! Yeah!

This Is The Way We Learn To Swim, Learn To Swim...

For about three weeks now, Dallas and Ella have been hitting the Y on Saturday mornings to join the other Pollywogs in earning their sea legs. Justin and I have been losing a little weight while enduring the sauna-like atmosphere in the indoor pool!
